One night, while lying in bed, the idea came to me: what if I passed out cards with a message of hope? I shared it, and it was instantly dismissed. Still, the thought wouldn’t leave me. It tugged at me quietly but persistently. So I began—silently, humbly—leaving cards on car windows, handing them to strangers, hoping they’d land in the right hands.

The inspiration for this movement started over 17 years ago.
My brother and his wife were young, broke, and feeling completely alone. They were shopping at Walmart in a small town in North Carolina, just trying to make ends meet, with a toddler in tow and another baby on the way. Out of nowhere, an older man handed them a Christmas card. At first, they assumed it was a church flyer. But when they opened it at home, they found a heartfelt message—and a gift inside.

That simple act of kindness changed their lives.

It was more than a card; it was a reminder that someone saw them, that they mattered. That one gesture sparked something in them. They’ve paid it forward ever since. And the way my brother talks about it to this day—you can feel the impact in his voice. That story stayed with me.

I want to be like that man.

I want to share and spread kindness—because we all need it.

But this idea is also personal.

There have been times in my life when I didn’t want to keep going.

Times when I felt like I had no purpose. And one day, I thought: What if someone like me—someone struggling silently—found a card at just the right time? What if that tiny message helped them choose to stay for just +1 More Day?

That’s the heart of this movement:
To remind someone they’re not invisible.
To show a stranger they matter.
To help someone hold on—for one more sunrise, one more hug, one more laugh, one more breath.
